Fill In the Blank Friday

1. What I love most about my home is the smell

2. I'm excited because, I have lots of craft projects lined up and lots of reading to do

3. My preferred method for blowing off steam when I'm frustrated is Running/working out

4. Currently I am craving Coconut Mocha Frap yummy
5. The thing I love most about my mom is that no matter the differences we have had and have been working on that she loves me unconditionally even if I do some things she can't understand.

6. If I was going to write a book about my life, the title would be  Small Town Girl Living in a Lonely World   Taking the Midnight Train to Anywhere... just kiddening pretty sure I couldn't rip off a Journey song. Maybe "Hi I'm Jadarie and You're Never Going to Believe This"

7. If I were to eat one thing for the rest of eternity it would be  So Easy, CHIPOTLE!

Have a Great Weekend Everyone!

What I Want Wednesday

I have been sitting at my "office" aka the coffee shop with bloggers block for about 20 minutes.  In that time instead of figuring out what I want Wednesday I edited some pictures I recently got to leisurely take, it was so nice to get lost with my camera and learn some new tricks from a super talented wedding photographer holla!  Anywho onto some things I've been lusting over

Fill in the Blank Friday

Happy Friday Everyone glad it's finally here?! I am!!!

1. I am looking forward to doing some more creative things in the next few weeks. Also to reading deeper into Keith Richards Autobiography Life, seriously a good read, o the life of a rock star in the 60's...

2. Something kind of embarrassing that I still love anyway is that I still have my stuffed teddy bear from when I was born and sometimes I pull her out and sleep with her when I'm homesick. Dorky right?

3. My favorite car is  A Volkswagen beetle, seriously someday if I ever have the opportunity to afford two cars I would totally have a classic beetle convertible as my summer car and hang out at car shows:) ha ha maybe not hang out at car shows....

4. If I could pick one type of weather to live with for the rest of my life it would be San Fran weather, mild to warm during the day and chilly at night, I like to dress in layers and especially like sweatshirts and sweaters in San Fran that works year round I've heard .

5. My favorite thing to do after a bad/stressful day is Nap it off or head for a Margie and chips and guac.

6. This weekend  I will be catching up on some much needed sleep!

7. If I were a color, I'd be orange because who expects anyone to say they want to be orange.

Well I hope you all have a great weekend if you are doing fill in the blanks let me know I'd love to read them!

My Weekend

So this weekend, my Mother's Day present to my mom was to help her clean out her garage and move stuff to get ready for this massive garage sale we are throwing later in the summer.  This is going to be an antique hunters dream, as there is ALOT of antique furniture that we obviously can't list in the shop as I don't know how to ship a mid-century kidney shaped kitchen table. (It's so beautiful, I want to keep it but don't have room for it right now)

But in the clean out process we found lots of new treasures to list in the shop. Here's a small preview of the styled shoots we put together for some of the items.  If the items aren't in the shop yet keep checking they will be.

Vintage Campfire Popcorn Popper. The popcorn was Mom's idea the chipmunks thank us for their dinner and/or breakfast.

Two Items in this picture will be up in the shop shortly, well one for sure, one I haven't decided if I'm keeping or not yet :)

This Wine Rack I re- purposed as a Mother's Day gift.  In it's past life it was an open whiskey crate, I measured a wine bottle and re-purposed  some old barn board to create the shelves for the bottles, so all the wood looked worn and loved.
Super easy and the recipient LOVED it:)

Hope you all have a great week

Fill in the Blank Friday

1. Fridays are a relief.

2. Being able to have the time to be creative makes me terribly happy.

3. Something that inspires me is  My friends that have their own businesses and are striving.

4. If I had the day off today I would  be working on my shops for most of the day  then probably lay in bed with all my new books that I can’t wait to read.

5. If I had to put a label on my home decor style, I would say my style is Thrifted, Simple & Cozy

6. Concerning politics I would say I'm open to hearing all sides, but half the time have next to no idea what they are talking about or understand how it will affect my life until it happens.

7. I'd like to go to Europe so I could make pictures of all of the pretty buildings and be immersed in a different perspective.

What I Want Wednesday

Hello Everyone and Happy Wednesday!

I can't believe how fast this week is flying by. It seriously feels like it was just Sunday.  Anywho, I've been feeling lately like my To Do list is taking over my life, I look at it and I am stressed out by it, so I guess what I really want for Wednesday is more time in the day.  I know that is impossible but I just need a few more hours in the day to accomplish so many of the things that I want to get done. Alas, some Etsy/Internet hunting doesn't hurt either. :)

I am seriously in LOVE with everything Jeznet of  The Little Illustrator puts out and this print is no exception.  I'll admit I have been a bit homesick lately and this print and her write up touched me.  Her quirky, cutesy and fun illustrations are amazing.  I have this print  on my day job desk and gets a smile everyday.

I so totally want a telephone table like this!!  I saw one on Cash and Cari and now have been on the lookout. They are gorgeous! And would look great with a black rotary phone sitting on top. A girl can dream can't she?

This post can be seen HERE Pictures via MeMe Rose Blog

I've also been crushing on this Vintage Panasonic Flip Alarm Clock in Rhan's SHOP. Seriously I think I have a crush on everything in Rhan's shop she has an amazing eye!

Thanks everyone for reading and have a happy Wednesday!

Celiac Awareness Month

May is Celiac Awareness Month and though I may not be a full blown Celiac, I do however have gluten intolerance.

Celiac Disease is an inherited autoimmune disease that effects more than 3 million Americans. The disease affects the digestive process of the small intestine and is triggered by the consumption of gluten- a protein found in wheat, barley and rye.  Celiac Disease causes an abnormal response to gluten ingestion: the immune system attacks the small intestine, inhibiting the absorption of important nutrients, destroying the intestinal villi and wreaking havoc on the bodies systems.

My story is so similar to every other Celiac’s I’ve read or heard.  For two years I endured five doctors, numerous ER visits and every test that involves drinking gross things known to man.  Finally on Dr. #5 when he couldn’t find anything wrong with me, and refused to run the Celiac/food allergy test instead wanting to do exploratory surgery, I asked him if I were your daughter would you want me to do this or seek another source, like a Homeopathic Doctor.  While he said he didn’t believe in that, if I were his daughter he would suggest another step before the surgery. I decided to go to a homeopathic Dr. and see what he had to say, if he couldn’t find anything then yes I would go with the surgery. Well I got lucky and that Dr. ran the blood test and found right away that not only was I gluten intolerant but also had a strew of other food sensitivities.  So here I am today, I don’t look like a walking zombie, my eyes aren’t sunken back, I don’t want to lay down in a ball and sleep ALL THE TIME, my hair isn’t falling out and I don’t feel like something 500 pounds is sitting on my stomach every second of the day.

With this in mind for the entire month of May I am going to donate 10% of each of my sales from the Trunk to the University of Chicago Celiac Disease Center.  The University of Chicago Celiac Disease Center is at the forefront of research and professional education regarding Celiac Disease.  Their research is funded by generous donations and with your purchases we can help put them a little closer to achieving their ultimate goal of determining the origination and development of a disease and uncover ways to prevent it.  97% of people with Celiac Disease have not been diagnosed.

*All Celiac information is via the University of Chicago Celiac Disease Center website.  For more information on symptoms and research please visit them HERE

*Update I had a biopsy of my small intestine and have been diagnosed as a celiac*
