Weekend Finds

Over the weekend I went on a little road trip in a direction I don't tend to go in, and found some great spots! So I will def. be going back that way again!  I found these goodies for the shop, that I will get listed in the next week or so.  I'll be honest I'm still on the fence about listing the Beatles thermos... I have a thermos collection and this sucker is in pristine shape so not sure yet what I wanna do with it. Suggestions?

For some reason I have been drawn to little people stuff lately so therefore this Barn and School House from the 70's were an automatic take home in my book.  I actually played with a similar barn at my great-grandmothers house, it has the fence and a cow and horse. The cutest thing is when you open the door you hear a mooooo sound, LOVE IT!  The school house was too cute to leave behind with its great graphics, cute bell and one walled chalkboard.

Also that great mid-century planter, pink and black together is such a great combo!  And ofcourse I couldn't pass up a Butterprint! Love that pattern to pieces, she is already listed HERE she is a 444 which is 4 quarts!

These two here were the keepers for me... Jealous?:) The Enid is missing a tiny daisy and her mirror fell off but is still in the inside so I'm hoping some Gorilla Glue will put her back in good condition. Two things not worth not bringing her home.

How about you found any treasure lately?  Also a reminder, if you don't follow our twitter you should because we have a pretty good coupon code listed on there as a customer appreciation!  Take a peek at our tweets, they are on the side bar as well. We like to tweet random sales and specials to our followers, cause we're silly like that!

Fill In the Blank Friday

Happy Friday Everyone! This weeks blanks involve traveling, which after vintage is my 2nd favorite hobby.  I have been bitten by the travel bug and have the itch to get out and explore someplace new.  Lucky for me though I have a few travel balls up in the air just waiting some confirmations on dates and times:)

1.   My favorite place I’ve ever traveled to is     anywhere. I love to travel and think that everywhere I’ve been I’ve taken part of that experience back with me. Now there are places, I won’t travel back to if given the choice…
2.    Europe     is somewhere I'd love to go someday.

3.  I pass the time on a plane (or bus, or car ride or train) by     making up stupid games listening to music, sleeping and/or reading     .

4.  My three must-haves when I travel are     a hoodie    ,    GF snacks   and     my camera

5.  My favorite travel companion is    anyone one of my travel bug friends  .

6.  The craziest thing that ever happened to me while traveling is
I was on a plane to NYC and they were having some crazy weather there so the plane kept circling over La Guardia, waiting for clearance to land, and we ran low on fuel and had to make an emergency landing in this tiny airport in Newport News Virginia and had to wait until they opened La Guardia back up  .
7.  The most exotic food I've ever tried while traveling is    sadly nothing exotic, traveling with food allergies kind of hinders those things boo.

8.  If I could live anywhere else, I'd live in    Northern California, New Mexico or Portland for awhile. Then I’d probably venture back to the midwest.

9.  I have been to    27  states in the U.S.
How about you any crazy travel stories, exotic foods and how many US states have you been too?  Hope you all have a fantastic weekend, I may do some picking so here's to hoping for some fun stuff for the shop!

Fill in the Blank Friday

Happy Friday Everyone!  How are you all doing?  Anyone have any snow to report?  The weather around here has been a bit bizarre lately, I mean 50 degrees in December in Chicago what the heck! Anyway, onto the blanks, which are holiday related since it's so close....

1.   The holiday season is     a time for good food, sleeping in, relaxing/visiting with friends and family. It is also a perfect time to reflect on the good and be thankful for all that has happened throughout the year (It’s easy to get caught up in focusing on the negative).
2.   Snow makes me   excited because it doesn’t feel like Christmas without it but by Jan. 5th I’m ready for it to go away and come back next Christmas. It’s been such strange weather here in Chicago, it's hard to keep the Christmas cheer .

3.  The best comfort food to eat when it's cold out is    noodles with butter and garlic salt Yummmmm.

4. Winter is the best time for    covering up with a cozy blanket, wearing extra large broken in sweatshirts, and watching movies.

5.  I can hardly wait for    Christmas Vacation!  .

6.  When it comes to holiday gifts I prefer to
give them. I love wrapping them and watching people open a gift that I've spent time making or picking out.
7.  If I were to rate my excitement about the holiday season on a scale from 1-10, I would say I am at about a    5 I like the holiday season, but with all of the hoopla at the full time job I’m already burnt out of Christmas. Hopefully I will rekindle the excitement when it gets closer and I’m on vacation.

How about you how are you feeling with the holidays a week away?
