On Crossing Off # 21

Ok so if you follow me on Twitter you probably noticed that my tweets from a few days ago were not Disneyland related. #21 on the list got revised, one random afternoon I got a text from my oldest and bestest friend that she was going to be in between jobs at the end of July and we should go on vacation.  I told her about my list and she said she wanted to go somewhere and knew I wanted to go to Disneyland but wanted something more adult, as she is a mommy and needed a mommy vacation. So I decided to switch going to Disneyland to going to Nashville, a stretch right but it's my list and I can do whatever I want:)

Cheap flights were found and we were on our way.  For those of you that have never been to Nashville, GO! Seriously if you love even like live music go! It is completely inspiring to be around so many artists that are doing what they love and trying to make it, something I can definitely relate too. Nashville has soul, there is seriously music coming out from everywhere, you get off the plane and the airport has a live band.

We met some super fun people and did some fabulous things. We had absolutely no idea what to do in Nashville and we just asked every person we ran into, what should we do next, and seriously it was so liberating to go on vacation and not have a plan, to not have researched anything to do! Ahhh loved it! So I'll leave you a few of my fav pics that I took.

Fill in the Blank Friday

1.   The last movie I saw was       Cars 2 sad to report not nearly as good as Cars the original  .

2.  I want to    be my own boss  .

3.  Surprises are     fun if you don't expect them, but if you know they're coming, they're terrible, because it's just a waiting game and I'm a generally impatient person - a bad combo  .

4.  The best accessory is   a scarf .

5.  My favorite warm drink is     soy hot chocolate, and lemon tea  .

6.  My favorite cold drink is       ginger ale when I want to feel fancy, Iced Tea   .

7.  Currently loving       Rescue Me, seriously have you seen this show!  I didn't get the first season but now I am halfway through season 2 and it's hilarious. That when you read this I will be crossing off #21 on my 30 before 30.

Over-N-Out!  Have a great weekend everyone!

On Crossing off #6

I had my appointment scheduled to complete #6, I sat down and told my now good friend stylist what I wanted to do, and she said and I quote " I am absolutely not going to do that". And I said why and she said, #1 it's summer and it will fade, and #2 you look amazing as a Blondie.  But we compromised, and we are working on the process that is going from light to dark so right now I am rocking the celebrity popular Hombre.  She has been wanting to do this to me for a while as she says I have the perfect hair for it so now I have it.  The whole time she was applying the color she was giddy, when she was rinsing I said do you feel like your about to open your Christmas presents and she said YES!  So not only did I make her happy but I love it.  I can't wait til I go back in the fall and it gets more dramatic:)  It's so fun, having her do my hair, she's a riot and I'm glad I found her.  She also talked me into doing something I never in a million years would have thought I'd do but more on that later.  Also, we are in talks about giving me a beehive for my birthday adventure, she likes my vintage vibe:)

On crossing off #7

My first attempt at crossing off #7 was on the night of the rain Apocalypse here in Chicago which involved multiple inches of rain, 2 micro bursts, one of which hit close to home and left me without power for 3 days! It was crazy! So needless to say the movie was canceled, never fear the Chicago Park District offered a rain check on showing my FAVORITE movie of all time 2 weeks later in the park again.

It was a perfect evening, no rain in the forecast the sky was a normal shade of color and not green.  So I had my vintage wool blanket set out and my picnic basket full of yummy snacks ready to watch Dirty Dancing.  Seriously watching the movies in the park is so much fun!  This is definitely going to be something that needs to get done on a more regular basis.  It was great, some people got up and were actually doing the final scene dance, everyone was reciting the lines so I didn't feel like a dork, and when Baby and Johnny are in the cabin the field filled with cat calls.  O and you bet the whole field also said, "Nobody puts Baby in a Corner." So much fun!

Crossing off #10

A while ago back in the prime of strawberry picking season, I took a ride up to a U-Pick farm in Southern Eastern Wisconsin, to cross off #10.  Man, the smell driving into this place was AH-MAZING!  It was a dirt road with lots of curves to get to the fields and the closer I got the more fragrant the smell of sweetness was.  I wish I could have bottled up that smell to open later on.

I have never been berry picking before, I picked up my basket that holds approximately 6 pounds of strawberries and a picking I went.  Strawberry picking is hard work people lots, of bending over but it was so much fun.  The key is to look under the leaves for the best berries.  So there I was with my 6 pounds of strawberries, that needed to be cleaned and something done with.  Well I took half of them and made lots of my grandma's recipe for freezer jam and the other half are sitting in my freezer waiting for what I have planned for them.  I'm thinking gluten free strawberry pie... Hmmmm.... we'll see.

Have you ever been berry picking?  I'm thinking of going raspberry picking but that involves thorns, so I'm still thinking about that one.
